Benchmarking Study Ranks Firms on Criteria Focused on Removing Barriers for Women in the Workplace

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. – June 1, 1010 – CCR LLP actually does advance women...and can prove it.

CCR LLP was named one of the “Best Accounting Firms for Women,” by the American Society of Women Accountants and the American Woman’s Society of CPA’s.

The Best Firms were selected from the firms that participated in the 2010 Accounting MOVE Project, sponsored by the ASWA and AWSCPA.

When women at CCR started lobbying for updates in the firm's benefits and career advancement programs, the firm's leadership realized that applying short-term fixes did not address the underlying issues. In 2008, it formulated its first women's initiative with a focus on equipping women with career-building skills. One key accomplishment: helping women gain key assignments with community nonprofits.

About the Accounting MOVE Project

The 2010 Accounting MOVE Project list of Best Accounting Firms for Women is drawn from the firms that participated in the inaugural cycle of the 2010 Accounting MOVE Project, a first-ever benchmarking report that measured the status of women in accounting and outlined ways they can advance.

Firms were ranked on the range, depth and success of programs and workplace culture proven to remove barriers to women's success, especially at midlevel and above. The MOVE methodology pivots on four factors – money, opportunity, vital supports for work/life and entrepreneurship-- known to advance women in the workplace.
